Detective Pikachu: Movie and Game Comparison~

Hewwo Bunniez! image Sooo I've been waiting to make a review of this movie/game  for so long! I wanted to wait to see the movie cause I played the game last year and it was released in 2016 and I didn't know they wanted to make a movie out of eet! But I was lucky that I bought the game later , because of financial stuff you know...heh.. BTW I finished the game and watched the movie and ready to talk about eet with you! So here's basically the plot of both! image

PLOT: image

In the Pokémon universe, Tim Goodman is a 21-year-old insurance salesman who had given up Pokémon training due to the death of his mother and the absence of his father, Harry. While hanging out with his friend Jack, Tim learns that Harry has died in a car crash while investigating a case.

He travels to Ryme City, a metropolis that outlaws Pokémon fighting and pushes the bonds of humans and Pokémon alike, to collect Harry's assets. Tim also meets Lucy Stevens, a fluff columnist who wants to be a reporter and is suspicious of Harry's death, and her Psyduck. While reminiscing in his apartment, Tim encounters a deerstalker-clad Pikachu that can speak and only he can somehow understand. They are attacked by a party of Aipom under the influence of a purple gas that Tim accidentally released, but they both escape.

They take shelter at a café where Pikachu reveals that he is an amnesiac detective who was Harry's police partner and that they were investigating a case together when Harry disappeared; the only clue to Pikachu's identity and Harry's whereabouts being the deerstalker hat labelled with Harry's name. They look for Lucy, who reveals that while investigating she discovered that Harry was once at Ryme Wharf, and set out to find clues.

DIFFERENCES:image
In the game Tim comes in town because he wanted to find his father, so he basically knew himself that he was still alive. Then he met Pikachu and figured out that they were able to talk to each other~ (he saved him from a car accident) and they start theyr researches in the detective disctrict! So Basically this is the starting plot differences where ofc in the game there are no fights but you just  solve puzzles. It's like a layton game with Pokemon but Pikachu Helps you more if you get stuck (Like Elika from Prince of persia that was a game without a game over)

general ideas: image
The plot is quite faithful to the game, the movie has more action than the game and that's good cause it would be just super boring just watch Tim and Pikachu solving puzzles, cause it's only fun if you solve them uwu. BTW  it takes up different and multiple scenarios compared to  the game and I like that they changed these things  to make it more enjoyable . The game was fairly linear and without exaggerated fights, in short, the enemy that led the most was a Nnoivern with Gust. In the movie Pokemons are  made so so well, psyduck in the heart. image💕  I loved the reali9stic but still faithful design of every single pokemon. image

image Pikachu is the perfection , he's a cuddly ball of thunder and it's fine, I heard that Danny De Vito (It's always sunny in philadelphia)  refused to dub him saying "what the duck is pokemon"  and then they got Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool). very chaotic but beautiful scenarios! Because in the end if you live with  pokemons.... that is the chaos you expect rather than the desolation in the games, I believe they calculated the fact that the no one would really keep their pokemon in the pokeball 24/7. Like hell I would keep Sylveon in the poké, if it  was for me I would go with 6 pokemon out! (Even if they calculate  that a person has only one companion, a bit like a daimon, he gave me this impression, but without spiritual connection etc.) It was a very pleasant film, it is one of those films that I would often rewatch over and over. I am sincere, I would not rewatch  infinity war and end game with that levity, I would be dead inside for months for a single rewatch. But this is that classic movie that you want to see because everything is good and I know everyone will be  happy in the end (ex:  Totoro).

TRAILER IMPRESSION:image

I really love the trailer cause it doesn't spoil stuff but it shows many things~ It's so well done and I did a reaction video about it! and I really appreciated a good portrait of the characters and all the other pokemons popping out to show you how well they were made~ without spoiling any plot or explain plot sidekicks exept of Tim and Pika~ image

image SO FROM HERE IT'S A LOT SPOILY SO WATCH OUT!! image

In the game the talking Pikachu is not the father of Tim,image at least from the conclusion it seems to exclude him since solved the case of the agent R the two return to the investigations and mmh ... A possible Detective Pikachu 2 on switch will tell us? image IDK buuut, in the game mewtwo makes a pact with Pikachu when he comes out of the incident, which is that he would have destroyed all the samples of agent R, but no union of souls and pokemons in the whole game, he just made the pokemon go crazy. However, fortunately here they don't leave any end open, I like this soul thing in the Pokemon enough to explain the connection between Tim and Pikachu. This plot edited is good because in the game you don't end the researches of Tim's Father and as I said, in the game the most powerful pokemon that attacks  you is Nnoivern. In the movie you got kicked by a mad mewtwo wich is pretty different you know image ouchie! But yeah Pikachu was so good using Electro Ball vs the Mewtwo's shadow ball! image

I'm happy that on the trailer they deleted the thing that they put on Mewtwo's head to connect him with the bad guy played by Bill Nighy (Underworld,Harry Potter) image

In conclusions, I give him an 8 and a half / 10! However, both the game and the film are reminiscent of a zootropolis ahahah

SHORT GAME REVIEW: image

I've talked about the game but I still want to add something. the graphic is super nice like the newest pokemon games. It's a corridor game so you don't have to explore much and pikachu is always there helping you with stuff. The voice of Pikachu is  Kaiji Tang and I really liked his deep "senior" voice on this sweet Pikachu! it made a huge contrast! The riddles are quite easy so playable by kids, you don't have to fight with pokemon, there are sometimes Quick time events where you have to press the right button in time but nothing out of this~ But still is very calming and fun to play without any pressure you know~ I really enjoyed eet and I'm super curious about the open plot of the game! As I said... waiting news on the Switch maybe? image

Tell me what do you think about the movie and if you played the game tell me if you enjoyed it too! Bye biiiii! Thank you for reading! image
